Does anyone have an opinion on what's the quietest wrist/trigger release? I've been using a Tru-Fire X-caliber style release for a number of years now. I love how it works, and I shoot great with it. But damn it's noisy! I think 40% of the noise my bow makes comes from that release. Just wondering if anyone had suggestions for a similar, yet quieter model. Ive got an older scott rope release the ive been hunting with for 10-12 years....pretty darn quiet. Some people don't like hunting with a rope release because of the difficulty in wrapping the release string around the bow string..but ive used it so much that its second nature now. | |||

There may be hope afterall. It's the trigger bottoming out upon release that makes a good deal of the noise. I stuck an expandable foam ear plug in the mechanism behind it, and it's cut the noise in half. Now I need to shoot it a bit this way to see if it will cause any problems.
