Quiet trigger release?
Does anyone have an opinion on what's the quietest wrist/trigger release? I've been using a Tru-Fire X-caliber style release for a number of years now. I love how it works, and I shoot great with it. But damn it's noisy! I think 40% of the noise my bow makes comes from that release.

Just wondering if anyone had suggestions for a similar, yet quieter model.

My Tru-Ball release is quiet - and has been for ten years!

I really like my new Cobra Black Mamba. It's designed by Carter and super quiet.

Ive got an older scott rope release the ive been hunting with for 10-12 years....pretty darn quiet. Some people don't like hunting with a rope release because of the difficulty in wrapping the release string around the bow string..but ive used it so much that its second nature now.

There may be hope afterall. It's the trigger bottoming out upon release that makes a good deal of the noise. I stuck an expandable foam ear plug in the mechanism behind it, and it's cut the noise in half.

Now I need to shoot it a bit this way to see if it will cause any problems.

I'll agree with Don. My True Ball has been good to me. Wink
