I want to know what has completed the "Spiral Slam" with a bow.

The animals in the Spiral slam :

Eland

Kudu

Nyala

Bushbuck

The other members of the spiral horn family are not included due to availability as well as price and location hunting them.

All but the eland for me. For some reason they just do not ring my bell??? Maybe if I had a chance at a Lord Derby, but I have only hunted RSA.
I have a 50+ kudu, a 14+ bushbuck and cant remember the length of my nyala but is average or above.

Can you post some photos?

I would love to see them.

Eland can be one of the toughest animals to hunt with the bow. They are also some of the best eating...

Thanks 505!! Ya, he was a real toad for sure. Check out that right ear of his. He was very very old and had hardly any hair or teeth. He was all alone when I shot him and the PH and owner of the property had never seen him before. He said he was the largest bodied kudu bull he had ever seen. I believe it because when I picked out the form I had no choice of poses because it was the only one and the largest I could find. It started out as a regular straight wall mount and I just started hacking and whacking and this is what I ended up with.

If you are looking for a fantastic bow hunting destination I would recomend that Save Conservancy in Zim. I have shot all 4 of the above animals there and it has some fantastic Bushbuck . Camps are stunning, properties all have bow blinds and stands and the walk and stalk is superb.A few of the operators I know have Bow packages which are really great deals

There is a advertisement in one of the local magazines here in SA for bowhunting in the SAVE. I'll see what I can forward to you.

I think that Dan Hunsaker has done the 5 spiral horns, especially an incredible Kudu. He has also shot the dangerous big 5. I think he has got most of African game, hippo apart though he shot one last year with me but we couldn't recover it, just a nice footage of the action as a memory. He has also hunted all what is worth in Australia and NZ. Few games seem missing on his American shopping list.
Just have a look on FOB website gallery. Every Dan's pics are pic of him :

A pity that Dan is so discreet, though he was quite active on the African hunter forum.
