well, i have finally lost what little sanity I ever possessed and made an offer on the most expensive rifle i will ever own if the offer is accepted- AND IT'S AN AIR RIFLE!! hopefully i will know by tomorrow and the guy can ship it in time for me to shoot it before i leave for Zim on Oct 17. after requesting feedback on multiple airgun forums about the Air Wolf MCT from multiple respondents( all rave reviews), i took the plunge. now i wait. hopefully, more to follow. of note, this gun has an electronic trigger and comes factory preset at 4 ozs.but can be adjusted up ( OR DOWN!!)

You will love it.

It is a great air gun.

If its new, my suggestion is to charge the battery overnight, because it takes a long time to charge from empty.

I gave one to my brother, and swears by it.

Nice gun ... but I prefer the MK 4.

When you hand someone one, you warn them about the trigger but, it always goes ...
BANG ! OH SHIT !!

well, bad news. by the time the seller had received my offer he had sold it to someone else at the same price! i am first on the list if the deal falls through but i am not holding my breath. i also have looked at the Mark 4 but haven't found a fairly new one for sale yet. i prefer the looks of the mark 4 but like the high shot count of the air wolf. the front buddy bottle on the air wolf is definitely unusual looking but i talked to 4 different owners of multiple high end air guns and they ALL said the air wolf was by far their favorite. at the end of the day, i go for function over form.

The Mk4 is the best balanced PCP, nice and lite, a joy to handle, no bottle gun can come close, sure you get more shots but the Mk4 has a good size air tank, and with the great efficiency that it uses air, it gets a good shot count.
You can get more power out of the Airwolf but if you go too mad you start to get some recoil, that defeats the whole reason for a PCP really. at 40 fpe you may as well use a Rimfire.

I forgot the Pax Guns "Phoenix" lever action, with the air tube in the stock, that's a brilliant little gun for hunting.
http://www.phoenixairguns.co.uk/

And the Air Arms 410 carbine is another one that just feels right.

Daystate makes another version of this gun called the MVT( not MCT) that has a chronograph built into the barrel. you program your desired velocity into the onboard computer(complete with LCD screen, which the MCT also has).the computer decides how much air to release into the barrel, via an electronic regulator, to achieve the desired velocity. when the gun's tank pressure drops below the pressure necessary to achieve this velocity, a warning beep sounds. you can still shoot it but your power requirement won't be met. pretty high tech, completely waterproof and warrantied for 3 years. too bad they don't sell this version in the US. on the MCT model, you have the option of programming for high or low power, depending on how many shots you want from the tank before refilling. BOTH GUNS SHOOT LESS THAN 1/2 INCH GROUPS AT 50 YDS- PRETTY DAMN GOOD FOR AN AIR RIFLE WITH NEAR .22 RIMFIRE POWER.also almost silent and totally recoil-free.

I had a Mk3 and an Air Wolf. I liked the Mk3 quite a bit better than the Air Wolf. It was a .177 cal and would launch the JSB Heavy pellets at 800 fps. Just damn deadly on pigeons.
Back then my lumberyards would ask me to come in on Saturdays when they were closed and take as many Pigeons out as I could. 50 - 60 yards was no problem with a mildot scope.

The wolf is a cool toy, but the Mk3 (or now Mk4) is a better 'work horse' gun in my very subjective opinion.

Then the CF varmint gun bit and the e-guns moved on. All I have left is a tuned R-7 with target sights. Love that one and it will stay in the safe.

Hey JDollar, The Daystate series sure is interesting. No way I could ever justify the $$$HUGE$$$, but the way you describe them sure causes a person to think about how and what they do.

Was there a particular Feature about the Daystate that caught your interest in comparison to the Air Force rifle you have now?

Just my two cents:

I am not trying to get into a debate with anyone over the choice of their " Toys " !

One of my first real Rifles (I did have a Chrome Plated Cap Gun) was a (low Velocity)" Daisy Red Ryder Lever Action Air Rifle " !
http://www.daisy.com/

Many of the neighborhood kids would get together & play " War Games ",with their own " Red Ryders " in the local foothills (This was long before the more recent paintball craze) I wouldn't allow my kids to do this today Eeker

I'm also a " NRA Certified Smallbore Instructor " @ one of my " Gun Club(s) "; Juniors/Beginners: Boys Scouts / Girl Scouts / 4-H Club(s)/ Adults

From a practical standpoint , I've advised many of the parents to " Buy " their kids an inexpensive " AIR RIFLE or PISTOL " , for their kids to practice with, before spending any $$$$$ on a " Rimfire ". It's generally less expensive & the kids might not have any long term interest.

Conclusion: An air rifle and/or pistol is considered a quite practical method of introducing non-shooters into the sport of shooting. Please note that for some people, it's also an acceptable (Poltically Correct) method : " Non-Weapon/or Firearm(s)" item, etc.

Why all the " Negative Garbage " ... ?

Want a bet?

For sure not with one of the puny 12fp .177 or .22 non licensed overpriced English BB guns.

BUT with a .50 cal ????

Also it's just plain fun putting 10 slugs through a 3/8" hole at 50 yards, the PCP airguns are the most accurate guns made.

True it's such a pain owning firearms over here even the ones you are still "Allowed" that has pushed airguns, but they can be HIGHLY effective small game guns.
And not so small game guns, I personally see little point in the big bores, but they sure are impressive.

why all the negative garbage? because Rich is an discredited idiot who has exposed himself as the fool that he is. check a long running thread from several months ago where he claims to have killed 28 350 class bull elk on public land over the past 30 years FOR MEAT. OF COURSE HE HAD NO PICTURES OR TAXIDERMY TO BACK UP HIS CLAIM. he was ripped a proper new a----le by everyone with half a brain. if you are meat hunting and have a bull tag, it's a little difficult to believe you would shoot an old tough, gamey bull and for damn sure you would see 10 spikes or raghorns for every 350 bull you bump into.absolute unadulterated bullshit. of course the last time i called his bullshit, he threatened to kill me( which of course denies that too). Rich is so full of it his eyes are brown.

check back about 6-8 weeks. the thread ran to several pages after his initial claim met with shall we say some skepticism. what i posted above was the jest of it. the thread actually started on another subject, then Rich made his absurd claim and was promptly reamed.whatever dab of credibility he ever had went right out the window. at the same time he threatened me( about 6 months ago), he also threatened Mark Young and at least 2 other posters. we notified Saeed and he quickly shut up, deleted his PM's(or Saeed did), and quit posting for a while. then the lying sack of s--t denied ever making the threats in the first place. what he didn't know was that one of the people he threatened is in federal law enforcement and took the threat pretty seriously. this little saga isn't over yet. are you listening Rich??

Sorry if I sounded a bit cross. I just have trouble comprehending the value in an air rifle much past a Beman R10 in price.

Educate me if you will, what does it do to justify $2300? That kind of cash will buy you a new Shiloh Sharps rifle, or a Gibson or Martin guitar.

I guess some would say why get a Shilo when you can buy a Uberti and save $1000. It's like anything you buy, what are you getting it for. The Shilo gets you better fit, finsh and may be more accurate (the way I shoot, I could not tell a difference). A Shilo is sort of like an Uberti on steroids.

For me, I have been a cartridge person all of my life. Have owned a Shilo and sold it and now have another on order. I also have a Rapdid MKII .25 cal being built.

I decided to get the Rapid becuase it's going to shoot a 31 grain pellet about 950fps. I'll use it for squirrels, rabbits and maybe some of the coyotes that are roaming around the property. And from what I have seen it's darn accurate. If I could use a cartridge gun around here it would be my first choice but since law enforcement would frown on that I think this will be the next best thing.

For me it is filling a nitch that I "need" to have filled. So it's like the many others I have, I need this because....

Easy question to answer. The Shiloh is made in Big Timber, Montana; just a long day's drive from my house. That's American made. Basic rifle prices are about half your notion.

For me, the idea that Shiloh or CPA is going to build what I want them to is the big part. I have an Axtell too, that I do not have a logical answer for "Why did you buy that?" Miz Carmen just made me an offer I couldn't refuse after I shot it at Quigley two years ago.

I guess this will just be one of life's little unsolved mysteries...

There are nice American custom PCPs.

but 1300 bucks gets this ...

http://www.pyramydair.com/s/m/...lever_Thumbhole/1409

A bit more cash for a divers bottle, scope, spare magazine, bipod and bits.
Then any small game you can get within 70 yards of is as good as in the pot.

Coyotes, you'd want to get a bit closer, prob 35 / 40 yards, for a good result, head shot, easy with something like a Rapid!

Anyway we all know guys with stupid toys that cost WAY more than any of these Steroid Monster BB guns.
