Ko Ka Tsara safari
PH Ralph Koster
Plains Game
SAA Air
Took wife her first time and loved it there.
Booking agent Cabelas, Jason Berger
Total animals shot 10

Well I made it back safe. What a great time over there. Hunted for 8 days and shot the heck out of them. Black Wildebeest green measured #7 in world. Blue was #12, Cape Kudu #55, Red Hartebeest #62, Waterbuck #93, gemsbok #102.
Some really great animals.

Hunted with Ko Ka Tsara Outfitters and had Ralpf Koster as my PH. Shot 2 Jackels in the middle of the day and Ralph said I was the luckies man that he has had with them.
The rifle performed flawlessly and the animals were is great shape and I had a great time too.

Recovered a few bullets with the one from the Blue that I shot head on at 40 yrds and it ended up at the rear near his testicals. Full penatration!! Ran 50 yrds and died. Missed a Ceracal cat at 150 yrds in the middle of the day too. All with open sights.

Shot 2 Springbok for a local family. One in the head at 60 yrds and the other shot at 150 and finished at 70 yrds in the head.

I will get some photots up real soon for you all to look at.

Doug
Black measures #7 in book

2 Jackels shot tin the middle of the day.
2 Spingbok they I shot for the outfitter to feed a local family. NON trophy animals.

What a ball and great time!!!

I tend to use more than enough gun.

Very nice Doug. I take it from the blood, that the last photo was the result of a complete pass thru shot from stem to stern?

After Mr. Poulsen's post I visited Doug Turnbull's site and found out what caliber the rifle is. Great work Mr. Turnbull.

No word on the amount and type of power required to push those bullets along?

Doug, I really like the color of your Black Wildebeast. Now about that hat! Did you get it from James Caan. It reminds me of the one he wore in "El Dorado"!

I had to shoot it twice in the head as it would not dies from the firts shot. The shots were at about 75 yrds. The hole in the jaw is from the first shot and that is the exit. It went in at the base of the jaw on the other side. DAMM tough animals, sure glad it didn't charge me!!

Congrats Doug. What kind of foot pounds of energy does the .475T carry?

Through my testing it delivers around 4200 ft lbs of energy with any of the bullets from 350 gr to 500 gr. if the pressure is run to 43,000 PSI

350 gr at 2300
400 gr at 2200
450 gr at 2050
500 gr at 1900

I have a 400 hawk bullet that I had them put a cannalure at .500" from the nose and that will get about 2250-2300 FPS at the 43K

I have Starline brass for the 475 T now and will have bullets from Barnes in 2 weeks.
350 and 400 TSX also 400 and 450 banded solids.

I tend to use more than enough gun.
