Russian458 Lott vs. 450 Rigby
Boys! Was thinking to order rifle in 458 Lott. I was told that 458 Lott is not good for repeat. have no clue what 450 Rigby is about. Need your advise. Please. Got buff in Zim with 500 jeffry improved. Was happy with the performance but think that the gun a bit heavy to carry.

Bill/OregonRussian: I think you'll find the Lott is a very good choice in a magazine rifle such as a CZ 550, and light enough to carry. Others with first hand experience will likely speak up. I have not hunted with my Lott, which is a Ruger single shot.

boom stickWhat weight is ideal for you?
You might just want a 458 win mag in a m98 Mauser.

RussianUp to 10 pounds. Most important for me now is caliber choice between those two

boom stickIf you do a search on both you will find all the info you want and more but from what people say who have gone there is finding 458 win mag/Lott ammo is a lot easier.

Idaho SharpshooterI had a Lott, now I have a CZ rechambered to 450 Dakota. Factory load of 110gr of IMR4350 with the 500gr bullet = 2450fps out of my rifle. A real hammer. If you use the CZ 550 Magnum action you might as well do the Dakota/450 Rigby. As an aside, Jorge here has a set of 450 Dakota dies and fifteen boxes of brass for sale.
