Bowers 458 suppressor experiences?

I am thinking of getting another can to use on some of my magnum rifles.

According to Bowers, this one will handle .458" bullets at up to 2650fps.

Has anyone used one on their big bore rifles at or near those velocities?

Or is a can rated for the .338 Lapua Magnum a better option?

I've got the Griffin Armament Precision Hunter .338 LM and the Bowers .458. The GA over the taper mount brake is just amazing; my .338 LM feels like a .308.

I've only shot the Bowers with sub-sonic loads, a 415 grain bullet @ 1015 fps. The suppression is excellent, but I haven't pushed the envelope in terms of velocity.

BTW, I contacted Bowers tech support about a question, and Tom was kind enough to answer himself, and very promptly too, I might add. Don't hesitate to contact their technical support.

Thanks. I spoke with Dorothy at length and bought the can a few days ago.

I looked at the Griffin PHS as well as the Suppressed Armament Systems Vengeance MX. I'll get the first one that becomes available.

I was thinking .458 SOCOM, but the Bowers can will handle a .458" bullet up to 2650fps mv, so I could use it with my .458 AccRel if I keep the velocity there. Big Grin

Yes, that's one of the options I am looking at; the other is a Tromix upper.

It will go on my .375 HH. We can compare notes when they arrive.
I was impressed with Bowers service and helpfulness. Great folks.
