I sure wish it was not so expensive to mail books to Argentina. I am liquidating my entire hunting book collection and am sure many of my southern amigos would enjoy some....but the cost....

I was told that there is no customs duty on books, and that helps.

Included is my Capstick collection.

All the best.....and if any of you will be at SCI this month say hello.

A real shame....I had thought that Juan had mentioned once that there was no duty on books....
would it make a difference if the books were used?

Martín: I´ve revised the current law (25.446) and don´t find taxes over book´s importation. A different thing is the way the courier brings the books here. If DHL we must use "Priority" and the envelope is delivered to our door. No tax involved, at least for me. Customs´ officers almost always try to bribe.. Mad

Many of the chaps I know down south are interested in Peter Capstick's books. I have the following. If you are interested send me a PM and I will quote a price after I go to the post office and inquire as to shipping cost. Probably Priority International would be the best. All in as new condition....

MANEATERS

DEATH IN THE SILENT PLACES

DEATH IN THE DARK CONTINENT

PETER CAPSTICK’S AFRICA,
A RETURN TO THE LONG GRASS

DEATH IN A LONELY LAND,

THE AFRICAN ADVENTURERS,
a return to the silent places

The following were part of the series he wrote on hunters of the past

BIG GAME HUNTING IN NORTH-EASTERN RHODESIA,
Owen Letcher
MEMORIES OF AN AFRICAN HUNTER, Denis D.
Lyell
THE LAST IVORY HUNTER, The Saga of Wally Johnson
WARRIOR, The Legend of Col. Richard
Meinertzhagen

No taxes whatsoever are applied to books... believe me, I know something about taxes Cool Big Grin Big Grin

Bill, my friend... may I ask you why are you doing such a thing? Books are close friends, they have the magic to speak to us in a languaje no many people can... why are you giving them away ? Frowner

Books, music and weapons were my major problems with my ex Wink... books and music could take me anywhere (if proper words or sounds were played) and weapons are both art and tools needed to calm the calls (should I say shouts?) of my spirit... been almost 44, my decision was not difficult Big Grin (no need of viagra... yet !!! - just plenty of women from where to pick my next chosen one Big Grin ) but my books... dude, my books are sacred !!! I have been collecting books since I was seven years old.... read and re read all of them more than twice... and I am stiil eager to re read many of them !
