To say that I have become quite taken with Argentina is an understatement. Were it not for my dogs and their care, one would find me there a good part of each year, and that may yet occur.

And why, you may ask. I am just back from my third trip this past year. The hunting is great, and with enough variety to keep you interested. The food and drink is wonderful, especially the beef, the wine and the great dark beer.

But what makes it all click so well are the people. I have made friends with whom I feel more like family.

If you are contemplating a trip to Argentina for hunting, you could do no better than to contact Juan Pablo Pozzi and Alberto Foerster at one of the following e-mail addresses:

huntinginargentina@hotmail.com
afoerster@ciudad.com.ar
pozzi@huntinginargentina.com.ar

I have hunted much of the world and the U.S., and I have never been treated better by anyone. These gentlemen take hunting to heart and it is a passion with them. You choose what you want to hunt and they will do their very best to accomodate you. Fishing is also available and a most enjoyable addition to any hunting trip.

An example, one of many but my most recent. During my visit in the past few weeks, two young Marines who were on Embassy duty in Buenos Aires booked a hunt with Juan and Alberto. They only had a few days. It was my pleasure to accompany them on their days (and nights) in the field.. Birds by the score; doves, pigeons, and ducks (a lucky addition for this time of year).

The chaps wanted to try to take feral hogs with a knife. Juan’s persistency paid off and each of them got their hog with the cuchillo, over Juan’s Dogos. Exciting? The best. European hares were pursued and taken as well.

The lodge they stayed in was the same one I had stayed in my first trip. 1st class accommodation. The food that Alberto’s wife prepared for their meals was outstanding, and that on top of the excellent asados Willy puts together.

But to complete their hunting goals in these few days took drive and determination. Traits my friends possess in quantity.

I will attach a few pictures.....

Your hosts, Juan Pozzi and Alberto Foerster with Rhodesia, Juan's new lab pup.....

Shooting loris

Bird hunting before the Marines arrived, Africa is dynamite in and out of the water and Rhodesia will be as well.

A leg of wild boar that was slow cooked on the parilla

Birds I stacked while the shooting continued

Duck time

Willy's magic asado...breats of doves, pigeons, ducks, chorizo, and a brisket of beef

Steven's jabili

Both jabilis with two of Juan's Dogos, Lanuel and Esquel.

Into my heart on air that kills
From yon far country blows:
What are those blue remembered hills,
What spires, what farms are those?
That is the land of lost content,
I see it shining plain,
The happy highways where I went
And cannot come again.

Juan. Good for you and for Iki. I still say that this boy is a better shot than most men I know, including myself. And today, while you were shooting ducks, Bill Quimby and I went turkey hunting with my tag. Got one at about 4:30. Bill is a great guide and wonderful company. He is still thinking about coming down for a few weeks with us when I come down in May. You will enjoy him as well.
