Willy. Muchas gracias. This was a trip that will leave me with such wonderful and lasting memories. Not just the hunting, because what makes the hunting special and memorable are the folks who welcome you. My hosts and hostesses were most gracious and hospitable and I know that I have made new friends. Juan Pablo Pozzi, Alberto Foerster, their wives Flavia and Lilliana, and their families. I will have more to add as this site develops. beer

Bill, looks like a real special hunt in a special country! The "band of bubbas" gave your (my) Brno ZKK 458 Lott a test drive last weekend on an exotics hunt in South Texas. We gave it a solid "thumbs up"!

Good to hear from you. And, yes, it was a wonderful time, and highly recommended. Glad you are pleased with the BRNO.

Juan, in the post by FLA3006 he talks about the BRNO that he purcahsed from me. This is the one we talked about that you would have liked to have had. Perhaps we need to talk Forrest into going to Argentina and taking the BRNO with.....and me..... BOOM

FLA3006...now you know how to rub it in. Juan, if you look closely above the bolt handle and under the scope you will see the "peep" sight I told you about. It pops up when needed.

Woow!! Eeker

Being away from AR for some weeks due to some minor and different reasons, I am gladly surprised to find that now we have a more specific forum for us, the ones who hunt at the SW part of the world Big Grin

Congratulations on such a satisfactory hunt, Bill clap!!

As said, Juan Pozzi´s word is well worth... and as far as we - the ones who usually hunt with him - concern, we are always given lot more than we expected, leaving us, as you well said, "with such wonderful and lasting memories. Not just the hunting, because what makes the hunting special and memorable are the folks who welcome you" .... hunting with friends (and specially these friends) is one of the most satisfactory activities I have ever experienced cheers

Hope to meet you, Bill Berlat, on your next visit, which I hope will be soon ! Wink

San Francisco (Arg) carries on the firearms tradition well in Argentina. And I am sure that is the case in most of the rural communities. The enemies of the gun owners are those in the big cities. That was the case in U.K., Australia, South Africa and Canada. They only view a firearm as a weapon for criminals; not as a sporting tool, a recreational tool, or as a means for self defense against the very ones who will never be disarmed - the criminals. Now the goal must be to get 60% of the politicians to see the light of day. I view it as a basic human right - the right to protect one's self, family and property, and in this day and age, the firearm is the best way to accomplish this. Call 911 and die is not a myth, in our major cities it is fact. Look at www.JPFO.org.

Ahh, next winter, i wil also be an discoverer in Argentina and see its wonderful hunting, and Asado mixta.

Last week, i got a set of 2 fine Norwegian Same knives tha twill be fine for wild boar hunting and general usages.

Its fun too remark the face expression of people that they get when i say im going to "spikke villsvin" , carving wildboar.....

Also several other hunters are interessted in wildboar and waterbuffalo, deer, cebues and dove hunting, so its a chance that i wont be travelling alone on the trip, or if i go first and they come over later , thats alos an possibliity.

But since an .404 Jeffrey will be here in a while , i think tha trifle will be travelling abroad to the majestic country at the base of the Andes.

Mr.Rigby: I have the true story of that boar from the very Mr. Bilo himself (he still lives). Sad to correct Capstick, but he concocted a well written fiction from real facts. Who actually grabbed the enormous hog by the heels (and not the tail) was Mr. Amadeo Bilo and the dog died saving his master, yes. The boar was the third in the world at the time and was shot by two American sportsmen, a Mr. Read and a Mr. Rickoff, extracting Bilo from a most dangerous position. They were Capstick´s partners in Sporstmen International Inc. and visited Bilo in order to organize hunting business in Rio Negro Province. Tomorrow I´ll give a copy of that story to Billinthewild (regrettably it is in Spanish, I don´t have enough time to translate it today). Perhaps you could visite the following web page: http://www.club-caza/relatos/relatosver.asp?file=..txt/...La%20noche%20del%Day

PHC is a legende and i have almost all his books, and all his videoes, he certainly had the gift of telling about the hunting an his writng and what i have read here has made it for me that i must go several tours to Argentina,

I have spoken with several hunters over here and the yare interessted in coming over, i have atleast 4 guests that seriously wants to go ona tour with Juan and Alberto .

Some wants to hunt the Water buffalo, testing a Norwegian custom bullet on them, while others has an Merkel double rifle in 9,3x74R they want to test on Jàbali.

So 2008 will be an interessting year for Norwegian hunters.
