Forgive my posting about bird hunting in the big game forum, but I am hoping for some information on how the drought might affect bird hunting in South America for May. I am booked for mid-May and have already paid my 50% deposit and purchased by airline tickets. I'm wondering if it's going to be a disaster. Any thoughts?

Carolina,

I don't know where you are going but I don't think you should have any problems.

The birds will be flying between their feeding fields and their nesting areas.

LOTS of doves around here. The corn fields and other crops are there despite the drought, some crops better than others but there will be lots of corn in the floor once the fields are harvested with a high traffic in doves flying around Big Grin

My answer is not worry but ask the agent or the outfitter.

Good luck

Lorenzo

Because it is self explanatory, I´m adding some official data about rains during the last two days in La Pampa Province (I apologize, it´s Spanish). Anyway, look at the place and the millimeters fallen. Wink

Not much...

Those amounts are less water than the farmer's tears caused by the drought CRYBABY

Anyhow, better than nothing.

Here in Uruguay, things are slowly starting to get better.

I have received an email from my outfitter and friend, Eugenio Lutz, and he told me that the deer conditions were normal so far, at least not worse than last year season.

Now we just need more rains and cooler nights to things get started... Wink
