Afrikaander just sent to me a message with some pictures of an unbelievable new Argentine record hog, shot at La Pampa Province. The trophy was shot near General Acha, I understand and scored 147.5 CIC points. It is thought that this number never will be bettered. The official measurements are not yet known, but I guess the tusks measured 33.5 centimeters in length over the curves. The width is also the biggest I ever saw.
Please Martin, post the pictures Eeker Eeker
Some fellows have all the luck... CRYBABY

Lorenzo: please tell us ASAP. That darned Mapu Vey Pudu club doesn´t even have an useful web page now (it used to post hunting news). The pictures are unclear and I guessed the length by way of comparison with the lighter, but I´m not sure.
Anyway, it´s a monster, I believe that some tale of the hunt will appear in a magazine (or so I hope). Confused
Regards.

Some further data appeared: the boar weighed only 80 kilo and was shot with a 308 Winchester by Horacio Sappa, a young hunter living in General Acha. The hunt took place in an estancia located in the route to Cuchillo Co. And that´s all I could gather. Mad

Sorry for my delay, but I am waiting for the official confirmation of these tusks measurements ... but believe me, they ARE impressive Eeker Eeker !!!

Indeed they are the new national record (we are speaking of Argentina), so you can imagine that they are pretty BIG Cool

Sadly I don´t have those pics with me right now, but I promise to post them tomorrow Wink

And the inmediate consequence of these great news is that in a fortnight I am going to the same place this "ele-hog" was hunted !! mgun

Just in case, I have already lit a couple of dozens of candles to Saint Hubertus Wink !!

Well, no official confirmation yet (I had quite a busy day today and I couldn´t make myself some spare time for that), but some pics for you to have some idea ...

These are the new argentine record for sus scrofa

Just for comparison purposes, the lighter shown measures some 8 cm ...

This is the happy hunter, named Gustavo Sappa

The official measurements are as follows: Length of tusks 27 and 28.4 centimeters, maximum depth 32.2 and 32.5 millimeters, maximum circumference 8.2 and 8.3 centimeters. Not so long (I´ve seen longer, there are 30.2 centimeters in record) but the other measures are very impressive indeed.
