I have just returned from my recent trip to this wonderful country and time spent with my
Argentine families.....Juan Pablo Pozzi, Alberto Foerster, and Ricardo.

There was only one problem and that is it was not long enough. Next time it will be much longer.

I did not go to hunt this trip, but to spend time in San Francisco to study the idea of spending a long period of time there each year.
And after this visit, I am convinced it is a place for me. The tranquility of the small city, the friendliness of the people, the excellent restaurants, cafe's, clubs, made this such an inviting place to live. Of course, the hospitality of Juan and Willy and their families made it feel more like a welcome home than a visit.

I did hunt ducks once and will post some pictures in a few days. But the adventures with Juan and his cadre of shooting pals was an excitement that will live in my memories. They hunted me! And won! We were out several times to entertain outselves and practice some actual combat excursions. Using air soft rifles and pistols the likes of which I have never seen. Semi and full auto and accurate. When my turn came to be the defender of the barn I had Andres with me as my "hostage." I thought I had a good hidden spot deep inside and was ready. "Listo" I shouted, and got ready for them. Mauro came around from the left and I did not think he saw me. I stepped out to shoot him and he was quicker with a full auto air soft. Stings a bit, but great fun. Next time I get the full auto and they get the pistol.

Anyway it was a great trip and I will write more with some pictures in the next few days.

I very strongly recommend Juan Pozzi and Alberto Foerster as your hunting guides in Argentina. You will not find better hosts.

And by the way, my Spanish improved about 50% this trip.

One further comment. If you are a vegetarian (doubtful on this forum) this is not the place for you. If you are a carnivore, it is. The meat and the way the meats are prepared there are just the best. Alberto is a master at the parilla. One restaurant we went to was on the style of a churasquierra. First the side tables of salads and cold meats; then they start bringing meat....different cuts of beef, pork, ribs, sausages, chicken, and it does not stop until you surrender. Good red wine, excellent cold dark beer, and wonderful crusty Argentine bread. Under $10.00 U.S.! Did I gain weight this trip? Only about 10 pounds.
beer I'll have another. beer
