A friend of mine claims that Jaguar can legally be hunted in certain areas. Is this true? If so where? " Knowledge without experience is just information. " - Mark Twain

I think they still take a few in Brazil on permit. But I sure wouldn't want to try and do it. Unless everything is perfect you would end up in a heap of trouble. And even if you could legally shoot one, it would be just like walrus and you would never be able to bring it into the USA if that is his plan. Too bad actually because opening the season on them and allowing them to be imported would bring in serious money. Same with tiger. The only was to ensure they are around in the wild in the future is to allow them an economic value. Right now a tiger is worth more dead in the junk medicine trade than it is alive.

Nope, not in Brazil since 1988. Currently the only animal being hunted legally here is wild boar.
