I was hoping to see a few more stags from Argentina from this past roar... post 'em if you've got 'em!

Here one to get you guys started. It's a nice one I killed in La Pampa back in 2004.

Hi Megalomaniac
Very nice stag!
I wonder if you have not a picture with the stag just killed on the field, tell you why; to compare the color of the antlers, this looks too dark to be from La Pampa province, more alike from our south region (Patagonia). Once more congratulations for your stag!

This picture is from a stag hunted in Quehué, La Pampa.

Unfortunately, I lost my flash card with all the pics from the hunt in the Miami airport on the way back... I'm still sick about that. The antlers just look a little darker after the skull was boiled.

Killed in La Pampa 1.5 hours due west of Santa Rosa with Rolando and Victor Nusbaum as outfitters. It was certainly one of my most memorable hunts. Here's a pic from their website of the stag:

That is what I meant with my previous question: notice the original color of the antlers of this picture; they are of the color the indigenous trees give them, as carob, caldén , sombra de toro as they rub away the velvet before the rutting time.
The stags of down south in Argentina are darker, because the trees by the Andes ridge are mostly coniferous as pines and others that will dye the antlers darker.
Thank you for your picture, and once more congratulations, is a very good one!
Regards

Sadly I haven´t got any one hunted this year to show ... yet !

Thou I haven´t lost all hopes to find a good trophy ... gone to Patagonia, but when I was there (mid april) the rut was non existant - and all I managed to find and see didn´t reach my standards so as to hunt them ... in July I am going there again, perhaps ....
