I don't have enough words to describe how much fun I have had in my neighbour country. Hunting red stags in thick thorn bush during the rut must be one of the greatest hunting experiences. Despite not shooting my red stag, I passed several big ones but I was after a monster as I already have bagged a couple of them during the previous years. I organize my trip with Eugenio Lutz a GREAT outfitter, he and his team are the best guides I have ever had the pleasure to hunt with. My buddies were after management stags and all of them ended with really good ones, not too much points in the antlers but they were thick and long as they were old animals. I have my chance with a really good one but the bush was too thick and I was too slow. Stalking these magnificent animals in the thick bush while they are roaring and trying to get a shot at 30 metres was not easy as they are sorrounded by the always alert femals. The property is 25,000 hectareas and is open (no fenced), lots of deers and wild boars. I spent a great week between friends, eating asados, playing cards and hunting under the beatiful caldenes trees. I HIGHLY reccomend this man, Eugenio Lutz. I will post some pictures later. L

Ricardo, You now that I LOVE your country. It has everything, big cities, wilderness, game, girls, wines, etc, etc. There is a story, that when God designed the countries, he made Argentina so beatiful that all the other countries complained, so to make justice he loaded that beatiful piece of land with argentinians.... Well...the story is not exactly that...God, in order to make life to the argentines a lot more easy, made another beautiful, little country, just the opposite shore...and filled it up with Uruguayans and mate!! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ColdBore 1.0 - the ballistics/reloading software solution http://www.patagoniaballistics.com

It is said that the Uruguayans are still drinking mate in order to dry their soil....and erect more Finn paper plants.

FB, When down here, and if you happen to go to the "opposite shore" please be aware of Uruguayans : 1) They look, talk and think like Argentines. 2) But...they ARE NOT ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ColdBore 1.0 - the ballistics/reloading software solution http://www.patagoniaballistics.com

Hey Gus, your second statement is not complete ... you forgot the part that would make everybody understand the motives why our "cousins" envy us that much ... so please let me finish it: 2) But... they ARE NOT, in spite their strong desires to be so ------------------------------------------ Μολὼν λάβε Duc, sequere, aut de via decede.

Yo, Lorenzo !!! Sounds like once again a most excellent adventure !!! I love Poncho's stag !! Did Gaucho get one, too ? I see in the 2008 calendar that my ten day Easter holiday falls in March... I would like to hear the stags roar .... Do they let Canucks into Argentina in March ?... we are rather hideous looking after six months of winter ....Mostly pasty looking ... with blackened frost bitten ears ..

Lorenzo: there is a legend about the "El Perdido"...is that the future hunting area?. They say that ghost deer and pumas appear and make hunters miss easy shots...or perhaps is the spirits they use to fight the cold
