We are finally starting to talk serously about doing a Posse Member's hunt in spring '09 for Red Stag and wild boar. What kind of costs are we looking at?

Does it have to be Argentina Bob?
Could put something together in NZ for ya'll.

Best of luck to Argentina as they take on the French in the opening game of the rugby world cup tomorrow.

I think you must look for something around 1,500 the trophy stag plus another 1,000 for daily rates.

There is a tag and a hunting license also but at least one of the two must be inside the trophy cost.

For a hunt in la Pampa (flat area with thornbush, you choose the deer you will stalk by the quality of its roar, close range shooting, hunting early in the morning and late in the evening that it's when they roar, if they don't roar it's very difficult to see anything)you must start hunting around the 20th of march minus plus 3 days. It's my favourite place, if there is enough moon you can tr for pigs after your red stag hunt.

If you choose Neuquén province in the Andes, the scenery is fantastic, you can do some flyfishing also, doesn't matter if they aren't roaring because you will be able to do some glassing and see the stags from far away. It may be more expensive than La Pampa if you go to a good place.

I am not in the business but I can reccomend you a couple of good guides (only if you don't choose my same dates Big Grin )

Good luck

L

My suggestion is to contact Alberto Foerster or Juan Pozzi for a fine hunting experience. I am heading down to their place again in a week. Be my third time in the past year. Top drawer.
