Thanks T. Sorry it took so long to get back to you - been crazy with paperwork last week. Send any other recipes as well.

This soup makes me think of summertime and warmer weather.Curently it is minus 20 outside with a stiff wind blowing. In August when the garden is in I will make some:

Schmotzuppe (German Cold Buttermilk Soup)
Take 2 quarts of buttermilk mixed with a cup of sour cream and add 2 cups of torn lettuce.
Some garden fresh dill, sliced green onions and salt and pepper.Let stand a few hours in the fridge for the flavors to come out.
We usually have this on a very hot day with cucumber sandwiches for lunch.

Sounds yummy. I go crazy over cukes and sour cream anyway! It's been between -5 and 10 F here for past week but the dryness is what's getting to me - even the snow is disappearing although it's too cold to thaw. At least the lakes are finally frozen over and ice fishing (chili season) starting.
