Hey, I killed a few wild turkey this year. I keep the thighs and drums and usually fry the breast. I find the thighs and drumsticks pretty tough. I was thinking of crocking them this year. Anyone have a good crockpot recipie? | ||

Take the pieces and arrange in the crock pot.One could use water or canned chicken broth and cover the pieces/parts with which ever liquid you choose. I use Tones lemon peepper or rosemary garlic as seasoning. Go lightly with the rosemary garlic. Also as seasoning one could use simply a pinch of salt and dash of pepper. Either way turn the crock pot on low and let those pieces cook until they fall off the bone. Drain off liquid, pick out bones ligaments{from the legs}. Chunk the larger pieces into managable bite size pieces. Then take some of the liquid the pieces simmered in and make a gravy {One can use turkey gravey mix}.I like to make double batch of gravy. Mix the meat into the gravy and serve over; waffles,homemade bread,toast,taters{mashed or other},rice, wild rice,stove top stuffing, homemade stuffing,& etc. & etc.Or one could drop some chopped cooked veggies into the broth and turkey to make turkey soup served with biscuits.YUM!YUM! | |||
