Last year on our safari to the Selous, I shot a klipspringer just before lunch. We skinned it and cut it into 5 pieces. Legs and rest of the body. We sprinkled salt on it, and roasted it on open fire. Ate it with baked beans. Absolutely delicious. One needs be careful of his shot placement. This one I shot at the junction of the ne k and head, so no meat is ruined. As an aside, I carried it to the truck, and one of our trackers promised to carry the next animal I shot. Guess what? In the afternoon I shot an eland!

Saeed, not that it matters, but just out of curiosity what was the calibre of your plains game rifle? Never mistake motion for action.

Ha! about the eland. If I had to bet Saeed shot it with his forty calibre and a solid. That's the best for the small stuff.
