Our SuperBowl Spread Alright, better late than never! Here are some links to the topics that were inspired by this thread, along with some random photos. It was a great battle between the 49'ers of San Francisco and the Ravens of Balitmore: Natrually, we tried to find a few ways to follow the team theme: Featured foods that we served were: The Monte Cristo Poppers: http://foodsoftheworld.activeb...ppers_topic3181.html The 7-Layer Dip: http://foodsoftheworld.activeb...r-dip_topic3176.html The Pineapple Upside-Down Cake: http://foodsoftheworld.activeb...n-cake_topic638.html The Cuban Sandwiches: http://foodsoftheworld.activeb...ubanos_topic682.html (Not a great picture, but they were devoured so fast, this was the best I could do!) Along with those featured foods, we had these wonderful and totally unhealthy "Little cheesy smokies" swimming in a concoction consisting of Jack Daniel's barbecue sauce and chokecherry jelly: Another way to serve them is wrapped in croissant pastry: They are often called "pigs in a blanket" when prepared this way, but they reminded me a lot of Dutch Saucijzenbroodjes: http://foodsoftheworld.activeb...odjes_topic1489.html And, of course, the usual chips, dips etc.: All around, it was a pretty good time - even better because I picked the winning team, against all odds! | ||
