Hey guys,
Just sharing some research info !!

I'm looking into buying a “ New Home “ (Retirement) on ½ acre dirt lot.

EXAMPLE

I’ve been playing with some ideas on; How, I will be fixing up the “ Backyard “ : Concrete Slab / Outdoor Porch / BBQ Grills; Large size Smoker vs Large Size ROTISSERIE … ?

I already own a “ BIG GREEN EGG “, which works great for cooking small piglets.

However, I would like to try my hand with larger cuts of meats; " Whole Hogs / Lambs / Goat " , and dedicate an area (Build; Block & Brick), just for this .

I've looked @ both of the below websites, over the past few years, pondering over " How Big ", or how often I'll use one the " Larger Rotisserie " .. ?

Small Rotisserie : Chickens / Game Hens / Small Roast ( Travel / Camping in mind )

Larger Rotisserie: SpitJack Whole Hog Rotisserie / Goats / Lamb (Backyard)
www.spitjack.com

I might decide to get myself a " Large Smoker ".. instead of trying to build an area for a " Large Rotisserie " (Cost effective $$) ??

I have to admit I didn't look at your links, you can smoke in a rotisserie but you can't rotisserie in a smoker. That ought to pretty much make up your mind! Get a rotisserie that you can put a rack into and something that you can use indirect heat with and you can smoke to your hearts content.

Hi, Calgarychef1

Well, the " Smoker " I'm looking at does offer an optional " Coal Grate ", to use as a " Grill " , whch might make a decent " Roasted Whole Pig ".

They, also sell a dedicated " Pig Roaster ", but it doesn't " Smoke ", as is !

PAPI: We bought a Traeger pellet smoker/cooker last summer and have used it a lot with great results.
For whole hogs, I built the roaster shown here by the "Three Guys from Miami" and it worked great:
