Being of German heritage I love limburger. Limburger, slice of ringwurst, and a dollop of dark mustard on a little piece of rye. Delicious.

My grandmother told me that her aunt used to make it at home in a crock and that the whole house stunk from the cheese. Anyone ever heard of making it at home or tried it?

Oh limburger. Cane Rat, you are opening old wounds. I love strong blue cheese and eat it on crackers, but limburger is another story. As a pledge, I, along w/ my pledge brothers, was forced to eat limburger. I think we all puked from the smell alone, much less having to eat it. You are a tough man.

Opa, my great grandfather, was born in Germany. When I was but a lad he tried to get me to enjoy his favorite snack with him- Limburger and a blittle blood and tongu on dark rye with sharp mustard. Never could get used to it.

" The more for me lad" he would reply.

It has been over 40 years sinve he passed and I still miss him, but his snack can stay away. lol
