6 1" thick pork chops 1 lg. can sauerkraut, UNDRAINED (Bavarian brand is excellent) 1-2 tsp. caraway seeds 2-4 Potatoes, peeled & sliced, as needed 2-3 Carrots, peeled and chunked Vadalia onion, sliced 1-2 cloves garlic, sliced Bay leaf Lowery Salt & pepper to taste Brown pork chops in greased 4 qt metal oven proof pan or dutch oven on both sides. Set aside. Line botton of pan with sauerkraut. Add caraway seeds only if not already in canned sauerkraut. Sauerkraut should be about 1 inch thick in dish. Cover kraut with vegies. Top with browned pork chops. Season. Bake, covered in 350 degree oven about 45 Min or until pork chops are done, uncover cook 15 minutes longer. Dark ale anyone?
