Yesterday we got visitor, so then I made a casserole of moose meat,
but this one is also very good if I use deer meat instead of moose.

First i cut the meat in small slice, I use about 1.5 kg meat.

Then I fry it on high temperature

0.5 kg with mushroom

Red pepper and union, this vegetables I fry together after the meat is finish.

Then i mix vegetables and the meat in a pan, and I add (from right) thick sour cream,
gin, brown cheese and rowanberry jam.

To get the right taste, I use then salt, peppar and game spice

Serve with rice, garlic bread, salad and a good red wine.

Man, I sure wish you gave quantities of all ingredients, at least as a guide. And what the heck is "game spice" anyway? Roll Eyes

Really sounds good and I have some venison ready! And a really GOOD American Red Wine! jump

Regards,

WE

Rowanberry should be tyttebaer [more commonly called here by the swedish name lingonberry]...The brown cheese is gjetost [goat cheese] which is a double fat cheese colored with caramel. It has a very different flavor for a cheese.Game spice probably has juniper berry and pepper .Anyway that all makes the typical norwegian game sauce and is delicious. You could also serve with boiled or mashed potato and a nice beer. ENJOY !!! beer

I'm not sure rowenberry is correct. The scientific name is vaccinium vitis-idaea. Common names include ;tyttebaer, lingonberry, mountain or rock cranberry, cowberry. It has more flavor than cranberry.
