If you are pressed for time here is a delicious, fast one-bowl dinner. In a 2 qt saucepan, bring the liquid from a small tin of sauteed mushrooms and enough chicken broth to make four cups to a boil. Take off the heat and add one family sized pouch of instant Idahoan mashed potatoes. I like the red skinned ones. Stir with a fork until smooth. Then add 1/2 cup of shredded pepper jack cheese, the mushrooms, and 1/4 cup of Hormel Real Bacon Bits. Stir and let rest 5 minutes. Serve in a bowl with a spoon.

That also makes a great crust/topping for a shepherds pie. Never mistake motion for action.

Sounds easy and delicious enough to try after a long day of hunting. Thanks Bobster! Zeke

Oh my! Yes, it would. I might add, if you don't eat pork, beef/chicken jerky can be substituted. But make sure you add it when boiling the liquid so the jerky can re-hydrate. This would be good for a camp meal as Zeke pointed out.

Do anything that you would with a baked potato, bacon pieces, grated cheddar cheese, etc. You can't gild the lily too much when it comes to mashed potatoes. Never mistake motion for action.
