Sometimes the best recipe in a new town is a good restaurant recommendation. Here's a good one if you ever find yourself in Guayaquil, Ecuador. Get yourself to La Alameda de Chabuca for Peruvian food even if you don't like Peruvian food. You'll like this.

http://www.alamedadechabuca.com/

The place looks great inside, the food looks as good as it tastes, and it tastes great. Try the Parihuela.

If you aren't drinking a pisco, have a non-alcoholic chichi de maiz morado.

If you happen by a Chabuca empanada stand anywhere in the city, stop in for a snack. It's top quality.

Many of us travel frequently. If you have a favorite restaurant somewhere, I would like to hear about it.

Guayaquil is the largest city in Ecuador, South America. (Second largest city is the capital, Quito.) The restaurant itself is across the street, in front of the San Marino Mall.

Visit South America in the following order.

1. Brazil (Rio)
3. Argentina (BA, Bariloche, hunting)
3. Chile (Santiago)

I would recommend Venezuela, especially for the fishing, Canaima, and the women, but it is just too damn dangerous at the moment.

Ecuador, not much of interest there unless you are a Galapagos type of guy.

I used this on another thread so I'll insert it here as well:

My favorite restaurants in Manhattan would be:

Breakfast - Time Square area (TSa) - Café Edison
Lunch - Lower Manhattan (LM) - Casa Mono
Dinner - Hakkasan (TSa), Union Square Café (LM), Esca (TSa), and throw in Blue Fin (TSa) for sushi.

All the above have websites of their own.

Lunch -Splash Cafe (try the New England clam chowder in a bread bowl with crab on the top.)

San Diego, CA:
Coffee - Better Buzz (Recommend "The Best Drink Ever")
Breakfast - Hash House a Go-GO (also one in Vegas)
Lunch - South Beach Bar and Grill (Fish Tacos, pick your favorite type of fish, I like the oyster and calamari.)
Dinner - Ponce's Mexican (Recommend the Pollo Asada Nachos and a Cadillac Margarita.)

The Eastside Restaurant in New Britain, CT is famous for it's German cusine and prime rib along with entertainment.

Walter the Accordion Man plays there and all sing along.

Hunters Lounge there.

Do that with your optics.

Two in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia:

El Cerdo http://elcerdokl.com/ Seems strange to find a superb pork restaurant in a Muslim country, but El Cerdo is as good as it gets. Run by a German. (One large pork dish is brought to the table and then partitioned using the edge of your salad plate.)

Ciao Ristorante http://www.ciao.com.my/ Excellent Italian.

I never really cared too much for Malaysian food.

Chicken on the Bonnet in Arusha, Tz. Only open in the evenings since its a repair shop during the day. Great bar-b-que though.

If you have that much to fight for, then you should be fighting. The sentiment that modern day ordinary Canadians do not need firearms for protection is pleasant but unrealistic. To discourage responsible deserving Canadians from possessing firearms for lawful self-defence and other legitimate purposes is to risk sacrificing them at the altar of political correctness."

Perth, Australia favorites:

Hippo Creek - Hillarys

http://hillarys.hippocreek.com.au/

Balthazar - Downtown

http://www.balthazar.com.au/

Perugino - West Perth (Italian)

http://www.perugino.com.au/

Tons of good restaurants in Perth. On the flip-side, DO NOT EVER GO OUT FOR MEXICAN FOOD OR TEX-MEX IN PERTH. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE.

Well I live in the state of Delaware, and there isn't a single restaraunt in this whole state that I would recommend for anything more than "diner" food.
If I want a decent meal, I have to go to Philly.
