MEC 9000G problem

I have seen several posts about the 9000G. I got mine out today to load some shells and had a heck of a time. The charge bar is locked to the left and I can't see any way to adjust the lock. The trip rod doesn't touch it on the down stroke and by the time it comes up to the lock, it is already hooked on to the charge bar. I had to manually push it down to get it to release. I dumped quite a bit of powder and shot before I gave up.

(Going from memory) there is a threaded rod on the mid right side of the machine that connects to the charge bar hook. Does this rod have an adjustment nut on the bottom? If missing or not adjusted into the proper position the charge may not be activated when you pull the handle.

You can get a 9000 manual from this page

You do have a shell under the powder drop station don't you? (as opposed to cycling the loader without shells in place). The charge bar hook should stay engaged to avoid dropping powder and shot if no shell is present under the powder drop.

I have tried it with and without a shell under the powder drop. I don't see anything different with or without the shell. What should be different when a shell is in the powder station? The rod on the right seems to be working properly. It moves the bar to the left.

Call MEC - they take all calls and are very good about getting you back up and running fast right on that call. Day hours only though.
