I am looking for loads for RST cardboard 20 gauge 2 1/2 inch shells using card wads. Does anybody know of a manual that lists loads. I've checked with Ballistic Products, they've told me that they don't list them. I shoot a few other old guns in 12 that I'd like to use Federal GM's. I'd prefer to use card wads in them as well. I am tired of cleaning up plastic wads in my back yard range. Any thoughts? Bfly Work hard and be nice, you never have enough time or friends.

I try to never throw 'good' books away. Your inquiry sent me back to my Lyman 'First Complete Edition' shotshell handbook. No 2-1/2" loads using cardboard wads but one page of 2-3/8" case data, which maybe could be used? The case listed was a plastic 'Wanda' case which was a 1 piece plastic molded case similar in cross section to an AA case. The one load listed used a PGS (plastic op wad), 1/2" felt wad, SR4756. Also lots of 2-3/4 all paper loads in that book. I might have some old Alcan load data around. I just have to remember where 'around' is. C.G.B.

Thanks, I never throw a manual away, either. Too much good history in then. I have some of the older Lyman Manuals. A couple don't have the covers anymore. They are falling apart. I never noticed those Wanda short case loads, just goes to show you how observant I am. I've got an old Speer manual with the old kind of load data, short and simple, a powder listed, plastic or cardboard overpowder, filler wad (undescribed) and a charge of shot and a velocity. I was sort of hoping to find more recent data that might be pressure tested with the newer versions of old favorites like RedDot and GreenDot. Lately there seems to be a lot of interest in loading for the shorter cases and using older paper shells and components. Might try asking on the Fox or Parker forums, maybe someone over there would know where there might be some up to date info? I am using the biodegradable birds in the backyard, hadn't given much thought to the wads. C.G.B.
