Guys, (or gals for that matter! ) I have about 6 pounds of Winchester 450LS powder that's approx 25 years old. (Stuff that my Dad had stored.) The powder smells good and shows no signs of decompsition. The only load data that I have are my Dad's old notes. He had two loads for it. One is: > 2 3/4 Winchester AA shells with 7/8oz shot (8 or 9) 16g of 450LS, AA plastic wad for 20 gauge. The other was: > 2 3/4 Winchester AA shell 1oz shot (8 or 9) with 18.5g 450LS AA plastic wad for 16 gauge. Since the powder seems fine, I hate to just throw it out. Does anyone have an old Lymans manual that show one of these loads? And what's your thoughts on using the powder? Chunk it and buy new or go for it? (a couple of test shels first Hate to waste stuff that's OK - and this is the last of old components that my Dad had left. Thanks, A1 | ||
