Does anyone have a list of all of the gauge sizes with their corresponding diameters in inches? I am looking for a complete list all the way up to the "punt gun" gauges. Thanks

I can help get started.....you do the math based on data from this thread there are (at least) the following gauges based on my shell collection 8 Ga 10 Ga 12 Ga 14 Ga 16 Ga 20 Ga 24 Ga 28 Ga 32 Ga 410 bore possibly more but these I have samples of there might be 18 Ga out there somewhere as well as others. /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." I think he's looking for the actual bore diameters of the various gauges, which is available in a number of reference books (that I don't have at my disposal at the moment). However, I'll add the 4 gauge, which was used, of all things, for cleaning slag from the interior of kilns. And the 9mm shotshell, a delightful little target gun.

Thanks for that. These lists are exactly what I am looking for. Has anyone heard of gauge listings bigger than 1 or 0. I found an article on the net about a punt gun that was "A" gauge. It also referred to something like the "barrel proof act of 1886".....???

I've heard of an "A" gauge. I believe it was a Dutch designation, but I could be wrong. I'm having to jog many years of memory. As to the exact size, I can not recall, but it was listed in the back of a Dixie Gun Works catalog for information. "The atomic bomb made the prospect of future war unendurable.
