Michael RobinsonVanishing Point Challenger Challenge
Great movie! Gotta love Kowalski!
And fun clip, too.
Which Challenger is better?

FrostbitNever liked the E-bodies (Cuda - Challenger) as well as the B-bodies (Roadrunner - GTX - Chager).
The E - bodies with a big block felt front heavy. B - bodies just right.
That being said a '71 Cuda probably had the coolest grill of all time.
Oops!! to answer the question in the thread. I'd always take the old metal. If you want better handling, ride, and sound then take an old one and restomod it.

I have to agree. They are really heavy and they feel heavy when driven -- at least to me. Now, if you want a nimble platform, then slide behind the wheel of an A-body! That said, the E-bodies are sexy.
At least they had the common sense to wreck a Camaro at the end of the film instead of a Challenger.....

Michael RobinsonWho cares about handling!

Kowalski was cruising from Denver to SF on superhighways.
All he needed was speed!
And few other muscle cars on the road in 1970 looked as good as a Dodge Challenger RT.
It's been forever since I have seen Vanishing Point, and I just ordered a copy from Amazon.
I like the new Challengers, too. Fun cars!
