I love Karmann-Ghias as well. Also "the thing" which was original Rommel's Kubelwagen. But back to the Ghia. I had a good buddy VW mechanic that gave me a word of truth;there are NO Ghias out there w/o at least one dent in them. I checked after that + he was right.It got to be a standing joke that when they left the assembly line,Claus with his ball peen hammer delivered the final touch. Working at a VW dealership in the 1960s, we had one come in for warranty work with a rattle. Pulled the door panel and found a beer bottle hanging by a string. Had a note, but I didn't read German.

https://imgur.com/a/9lJbmHC This is a picture of my Berkeley taken way back in college days. My brothers 56 Chevy gives a little perspective as to it's size. There are a lot of wonderfulmemories associated with that car. In the background is the stone house my father built. Dick Wright

You're right about that one, but getting the dog crates, guns, decoys and gear in a Porsche was a challenge.

Neat little Berkeley micro Dick. Do you recall the year & model? Those headlights are unusual. Motorcycle engine front wheel drive? Life itself is a gift. Live it up if you can.

Dick and I have visited about our Berkley's. Mine was made in either 1957 or 1958. It was a SE328 and had an Excelsior front drive engine.

While I can't compete with some posters here,I have been lucky enough to have owned a few classics. These being 1959 Austin Healey Sprite,1964 Porsche 356 SC, 1972 Alfa Romeo GTV 2000,1974 Alfa Romeo GTV 2000 and now I have a 1973 Porsche 914. I think I will have to sell the 914 as my arthritis makes it difficult to get in and out. I almost forgot my 1950 Ford Victoria 2 door hardtop. Jerry

Unfortunately,it was t-boned Prom night and ruined my chances to be naughty with my date.the only thing I got that night was 14 stitches in my head and a royal headache. The car was totaled and the other drivers insurance company gave $200 for the car. Oh well!! Jerry

I've loved the Super Sevens for years! When in my early 20s, I went to an event where cars raced around a course set up with cones in a large parking lot. A certain Dr Baker cleaned house in the event with his Super 7...what an awesome car!

Yeah, but I am just not sure whether I can enter and exit one anymore! Peter. Be without fear in the face of your enemies. Be brave and upright, that God may love thee. Speak the truth always, even if it leads to your death. Safeguard the helpless and do no wrong;

Well,there is always that. I am getting to the point where George Burns said "At my age when you bend over to tie your shoes,you ask yourself,'Is there anything else I can do when I'm down here'?" Never mistake motion for action.

I've mentioned here before that in 73 I bought a 2 door Belair for $75.00 + the same year bought a 59 Impala for $50.00, + a Ford Unibody P.U. for $50.00 that I drove for years. When my son goes nuts over these figures I have to keep telling him that when I bought them, they were not classics, they were just old cars. Hindsight being 20/20 I wish I still had them now as well as my 57 Apache P.U. that I paid $450.00 in 1976 (with a NEW paint job). SIGH! Never mistake motion for action.
