We were both off, but I was closer. The Porsche factory website says first offered for sale in the fall of 1963.
What's a year?

I believe Rich is correct, that the 911 was first produced in '63......

My Father always liked fast Ford 4-doors. He bought a 64 Galaxie 500XL 4D hardtop with the NASCAR/R model package. 427 CID 425 HP. Oh God!

Surprised to see this forum, it's a good addition. I've been a lurker for years but I don't post very often.

But when I saw this thread I had to post a picture of my 1962 toy....

I thought we were still in 1962, Rich! The Silver Bullet wasn't born until 1967 ('67 Belvedere GTX) and was dominant in the early to mid-70s. An old friend of mine (a Chrysler engineer) was a friend of the original owner of the Bullet, Jimmy Addison.

It's often a problem to decide first year info because so many car manufacturers introduce models to different countries at different times.

For example, the E Type was originally launched in 61 but I think only in the UK. I'd guess it must have taken about another year before they got a LHD model to the USA.

Porky,

Damn but I think I'm love with that car....... please tell us more and give us a few more pics!!!

Shakari, She's an Austin Healey 3000 MKII, assembled by Classic Roadsters. She has a 1978 Mustang 2.6 liter V6 .030 overbore. Offenhauser manifold with a Holley 4 barrel. And a C-4 auto tranny..... Fun little car....

WW,

I thought the original car was a Ramchargers project with a 413 crossram. Didn't some collector buy the Bullet and have it restored to like new racing condition?

those were the days...
