Came across a review about a 2014 Jaguar F-type S. Here's a clip from C&D written by Andrew something....... The S also builds on the standard car’s bag of electronically controlled features, adding dynamic launch (step on the brake, wait for the “ready” signal in the dash, floor the throttle, let off the brake, and go), a sport suspension with Jag’s proprietary adaptive dynamics, and the glorious active sport exhaust, which— sweet baby Jesus in a jumpsuit—sings an intoxicating song . At idle, though, the sound track is a bit frumpy and uninspired by comparison. Letting off the throttle after a run to the 6600-rpm redline will, however, elicit rapid-fire staccato pops and crackles that sound as if the S had just fired a pack of Black Cats from the tailpipe. Life itself is a gift. Live it up if you can.

Drove one a few years back- for an 8 that exhaust note sounds great. Nice British deep throat. Only negative is that was on the throttle. Take it off and it coughed a bit too much for my taste. Ain't nothing like a British V12. I would up buying an S Class coupe instead. The F type was too small. There are two types of people in the world: those that get things done and those who make excuses. There are no others.

My dad had a '67 XK-E with the high performance 4.2 liter- and it would really go; but it wouldn't go around a corner and it leaked rain as if there was no top. I suppose the newer ones are fun to drive, but baby Jesus in a Jumpsuit?? Does this guy carry a lightning rod for protection?

First the XF, now this. What happened to long and lean? I was little interested when this one came out as I like the body lines. But, after closer look at a dealer, I was disappointed with the short body and smaller engine similar to a Lotus Exige with the Toyota engine. When I first saw an Exige, I thought it was a new Mazda MX-5. Kiddy-car small. Life itself is a gift. Live it up if you can.

There are writers who live and breathe what they are writing about. Then there are just writers who have no clue about their subject and seem to like to hear themselves talk.

I thought cars were made to get me somewhere - but now the exhaust sound is augmented [through the speakers ] to have the "correct sound " !! Further evidence that society is going off the deep end !
