I gave my wife that exact same car for her 40th B day.

I love those lines Ritch....but what a pity that Jaguar did not put in a supercharged archer V-12 in this model.....

I think it would have been waaaay nose heavy. They do have a 5-litre Supercharged twin cam, four valve V-8 that makes 510 horsepower now. I need one of these real bad, but not enough to die for.

The XKR is a supercharged V8. Gives a noticeable performance edge I believe. As you may know, one of these is on my bucket list. Any suggestions as to the best years to look for ie. any significant improvements? I guess I am looking for something since 2000. Not sure it has to be a convertible.

1999 was the first year for the new body style. They had a few issues that the factory took care of. Mine is a 2000 sport model. It had the 18 inch wheels and tires and was a better road car.
2006 they made several changes, I think that was when they went from 4litre to 4.2litre and redesigned the body. Smoothed it out a bit. It might have been about then the "R" model came out with about 80 more supercharged horsepower. 2009, was when they went to the 5litre engine and the 510 horse "R" was introduced. 20 inch wheels and tires offered. Not sure the first year 19 inchers were offered. 6-speed gearbox is now standard.

Nothing, in my mind, comes close to that sleek, slinky, cat on the prowl styling. Women just go ga-ga over them.
