Cool Bronco prototype
Nicely done Ford. A real bronco.

Not bad. No V-8 of course.

I like the retro look but it's more aligned with being a pavement princess when compared to a Rubicon.

Still looks like a 1970's International Scout but the look is growing on me. I'll give it 3 years to get the bugs worked out before considering it.

I'd like to see one without the fender flare plastic.

We own three. A 1996 12V Cummins Dodge, a 2006 Cummins Dodge, and a 2020 Diesel Wrangler. All have seen trips far from any pavement.

That said........ enjoy the video........

In the case of a 4WD FORD, that's probably a smart move. That way the tow truck can get to it easily. And trust me, anything with those 4 letters across the front, WILL need a tow truck ... often.

My tractor is a Mitsubishi built in the mid 70's. It's a little cold blooded, which is why we call him Mr. Bitchy, hating to start in the cold. But he's been reliable once he starts. Wink

And you can bet all are paying MSRP and higher plus outrageous dealer fee's to be the first on the block to own a new model vehicle. I just don't see the attraction to owning any brand new model.

Agreed! We took a big risk buying the third Gen 3.0 diesel the first year in the Wrangler. So far so good. A big issue may be parts availability if something goes tits up. There are many 3.0 Wrangler specific parts not used on other Wranglers.

Yup but consumers like what the consumers like. How much money is wasted by ar members me included on hunting Africa Wink. The discretionary aspirational consumer is the bedrock of the us consumer sector.

Ford Mustang Mach e had a dealer charging 10k over Msrp. Big Twitter outrage forced ford to step in and stop the mark up.

Covid has screwed up a bunch of supply chains from guns and ammo to bicycles to semiconductors used in autos.

I don’t see a ford bronco readily available till late 2022.

Sure did!! The Wrangler plant shut down completely one week after Joyce's was on the railcar heading west. Then FCA discontinues the Bikini Pearl color before 2021 production year. I can't find exact numbers but there are likely less than ten Bikini Pearl 3.0 Wranglers made.

Would you like to start the bidding at $250,000? animal

Yup bunch of supply chains all screwed up.

I won’t be surprised to see ford get a rivian skateboard based bronco.

The demand for bronco is real. And ford is becoming a new thin product line company - they will make bronco into a product line like f series trucks and mustang.

Sure are on fire. But, how many of those folks who got in line will actually follow through when the actual orders are taken? No matter, still excited to see the first one on the road.

About cost, time to lay back a couple years, see what happens in the used market.
I just spec'd one out in the mid-range with just a few things like locking diff. V-6 and automatic in the Black Diamond package since this was the minimum package required to be able to get the orange body color. You get lane warning and distance warning and possibly auto braking too. Sticker would be like $46 grand with just painted steel wheels, front carpet only and vinyl seats. Leather is not an option on any Bronco. 8 spoke black wheels will add about a grand. But, if you want the bright rims with black centers you have to buy the Sasquatch package for like $7,000.

Being a one car guy, my current ride will be here for at least a couple more years.

Joyce's diesel Rubicon with all the bells and whistles minus leather seats came in at $53K (3% below invoice). We have about 8K in aftermarket add ons.

Not a bad price for a diesel. I don't know how that engine option adds to the price of a gasser Rubicon. But, other diesels can add 4 figures plus.

As far as Jeep Wranglers go, Mall of Georgia was 7% under invoice which was roughly 12% off MSRP on Wranglers ordered from the factory. Good outfit. I drove down in a rental and they picked me up at the rental car place, drove to dealership, did the paperwork and I was on my way.
They didn’t even ask me for a deposit when I ordered my Rubicon.
