NormanConquestMy ex-wifes grandfather was a mechanic as well as a WW1 vet + he gave us a 67 cudda w/ the slant six. He would always say "Damned Dodge"; I hated to hear how he would address Fords.

When I was a mechanic, this little old lady leans over to me one day and whispers, "do you know what FORD stands for? I say, no. She says, "effed over, rebuilt Dodge. Being a Mopar man, I about died laughing.
Nice Baracuda!

NormanConquestI've heard both of those many times over the years but in all honesty, I have been broken down twice in a C-10 Chevy but I have never had a Ford P.U. leave me on the side of the road. Just lucky, I guess. I'm not a Ford advocate; just saying.

NormanConquestActually, "Shorty" was a navel CPO + althogh he stood almost 5' tall he did have a sailors vocabulary. I will confess that he never used it around the women of the family, he would use it on occasion; never like the kids today that every other word is Fxxx so you can't even understand what they are trying to say.

MeMeBy sister's first husband had a 68 Cuda with a 383 and a 4 speed. That car could MOVE!!

NormanConquestMy son just gave this car to his younger brother + he is in love with it. He is still working on finishing # 2's wifes 65 Mustang. Should be ready soon. # 1 son (43) has a lot of talent in many areas + vehicle restoration is just one of them. He has the soul + eye of an artist. I bought him the engravers vise from Les Brooks (here) for Christmas + he's already dreaming up engraving projects. He is my son + thus I am biased, but the truth is that he REALLY is that good, with an artists eye.

Just a wild guess but I'm betting you didn't have a FORD PU with more than 50,000 to 75,000 miles then. I long ago lost count of the number of times a FORD truck or car left me stranded, whether it was my vehicle or one I was riding in when it died.

customboltI've had several Fords we bought new that went to 100,000 miles with zero repairs. Nuthin'. Older ones went through starters at 80K to 100K.
Hey Norman conquest: Pix of the Barracuda don't open for me. Got another link? PM me if you need some assistance.
