McLaren was started by NZ driver Bruce McLaren, who drove Shelby American Inc. famous GT40 to victory at LeMans in 1966.
1966 being the same yr McLaren entered his own McLaren team car at a Grand Prix circuit( at Monaco).
However, McLaren had started itself up some yrs earlier, in 1963.
Team McLaren to date has won 12 driver championships, but more importantly 8 constructor championships.

and McLaren being partnered with British Aero Space, certainly has different ring to it
than the likes of Ferrari being largely owned by common car manufacturer Fiat-Chrysler.

The 3.8 litre V8 engines for McLaren road cars are based on an engine developed for Indy500.
with developmental assistance from Ricardo and Menard Competition Technologies.

Both Ricardo and Menard Competition Technologies (MCT) are world-leading providers of bespoke solutions to the motorsport,
They are advanced automotive engine designers as well as developers and manufacturers.

Now a brief look under the roof of the pure race bred origin company of McLaren,
which provides exquisite F1 shop standards for even its road cars.....

The line has no production type overhead cranes or conveyor systems.. or car industry typical noisy air tool system.
instead cars are hand trollied around on a white tiled floor, technicians using silent electric torque wrenches.
The place is as quiet as a hospital, and even cleaner.
