Attention drag racing fans.
Just found this in my memory chest. Figured I'd share. From the ol' days at Maple Grove in Reading PA. 2004.

Was that your mustang? How was it set up and what were you doing in the 1/4?

That's mine. Ran mid 12's with a mild 306 (302) until this engine blew a month or two after this win. Then replaced it with a stroker 347 that ran mid 11's. .462 gears C-4 reverse shift with one extra clutch disc. Sticky Micky's, etc.

I'm getting ready to build a cleveland (stroked to 377") for my 70.5 falcon wagon.

with those 4.62 gears how fast was the engine turning at the end and how tall were those M/T's?

I forget what the tire height was. Sorry. I shifted at 7,000 rpms and went through the traps at 7,000. Ford Racing makes a dandy nickel steel block with forged components. Used a notched Boss 302 windage tray.
