Hope I spelled Yenko correctly.. Noted on line yesterday that Chevy/GM will produce 50 new camaros with a supercharged 427 (700HP) and refer to it as a YENKO. I am sure they have been pre sold for months to GM execs and celebrities. Just 50?? collectors items for sure. What a tease.. EZ

Back about 30 years ago I had the opportunity to drive an original 1969 Yenko Camaro, sadly not a ZL1 but an L88 powered car... The comment that has always come to mind when asked about my impression of that car is that speed shifting that car from 3rd to forth was like slamming home the hyperspace lever on the millennium falcon... There is something disturbing and wrong about a car that lights the tires going from 3rd to 4th at >100mph. And the words that issue from your mouth were OH my Holy GOD!!!... any "civilization" in the behavior of that car was entirely accidental... If I provoke you into thinking then I've done my good deed for the day! Those who manage to provoke themselves into other activities have only themselves to blame. *We Band of 45-70er's* 35 year Life Member of the NRA NRA Life Member since 1984

The pony car wars, a corporate approach: 1. Chevrolet announces a run of 50 Yenkos, 700HP, msrp over $100,000. 2. Ford announces; no more 662 HP Shelby GT 500's, counters with a 300+ hp turbo 4 cylinder and IRS 3. Dodge counters, got $60,000? Go to any dealer and order a 707 HP Challenger Hellcat. I went by the Dodge guys last week to ask about them. The salesman says "how many do you want...? Got a color preference?" It just kills me, did somebody tell Ford and Chevy that everyone owns their 4 mile road course? Somebody did tell the Dodge Boys that every stoplight or straight piece of road over 1/4 mile long now BELONGS TO THEM!!

only if you put four people and a suitcase for each one of them in it... We are talking muscle/pony cars here, although it would be interesting to see if the new 'Vette can pull low, low elevens in the quarter. The Hellcat seems capable of 11:20's. I always like to talk GT-R Nissans to the Corvette guys myself.
