Opus1If one considers all the power and efficiency robbing BS manufacturers have to add in order to meet emission standards, including adding ethanol to fuel, I truly wonder if we are actually ahead. Sure it all looks good on paper, but when you get 10,000 miles down the road, I find it hard to believe we are actually winning anything.
In addition, engines don’t last nearly as long without major overhauls and that also costs a lot in energy and resources which only adds to greenhouse gas emissions. I believe the government has us running in circles all in the name of saving the planet.
Considering that man only adds 3% to the total global carbon dioxide cycle, we sure are pissing away a lot of time and money trying to cut emissions by fractional percentages which at the end of the day doesn’t amount to a fart in a hurricane.
Anyhow, back to the OP... Will be interesting to see how offroad capable the new Bronco will be.

model7LSSEverything needs a Ford inline 6 240/300 with a one barrel Carter YFA. Economy, good torwue, and only needs to be rebuilt about every 300k.
I think the Bronco is going to be cool, and I think it will be a hit in the market it's headed into. One thing I have really liked on my past two Ford's was electronic lockers in the rear. I would assume this would be standard on the 4x4. Did I read correctly that it will be offered in 2wd like the Jeeps?

customboltLots of hype.
My guess, shortened all-metal Ranger 2.5T
2wd is usually an option like most SUV's.
G'night.

Ford has one simple rule don’t mess with the f-150.
The single product and its derivatives (f250/f350) is the core of the ford franchise.

customboltI just hope it's [at least] a 2 door Ranger version. The F class width seems a little to wide for a 2 door.

Opus1Your wish came true. The Bronco is built on the mid-size Ranger frame which is 72" wide and not the full sized F-150 frame which is 80" wide. The Bronco is supposedly coming in both 2 and 4 door versions.

customboltWell the 4 door looks like just another Explorer. Hope the 2 door looks better. Glad to hear that a V-6 is an option.

customboltIf anyone cares, the 2021 full sized model is called the Bronco. The smaller Escape-based model is called the Bronco sport.
May have to drive one of the full-sized ones.

Todd WilliamsWhat's the expected mileage until the first tow truck call?

At least these days, FORD doesn't have to give their customers a good set of walking shoes with each vehicle. As long as they have a cell phone to call for help, they're good to go!

customboltI predict the full sized Bronco will do better sales in the first 6 months than the late model Tbird ever did in sales. Aftermarket parts should do well.

450 - 500 miles on the stock tank. 300 more with the two Jerry cans.

Opus1Impressive. That will certainly get you in and out of most wilderness areas with plenty to spare.
