I bought one of these when they first came out. It is my favorite inline. I am very big into encores, and have barrel-itis bad, but I still have the black diamond and use whenever I can. I much prefer it over the encore (in the muzzleloader configuration)
I'm using 3 pyrodex pellets (total of 150 grains) 300 hornady xpt mag in a t/c mag sabot. I currently have a 3x9x40 Leupold vx-II on it and use a musket cap. 1.5" 100 yard groups are the norm.
Best of luck with it!

I've owned a T/C Black Diamond in .50 cal. for two years now. It is an excellent M/L and you made a wise choice in buying it. It is easy to maintain and clean, and shoots 90 grains (Volume) of "loose" Triple "7" FG with .452" Hornady 250 Gr. XTP, in High pressure sabot, accurately. I have a T/C Peep Sight mounted on mine, and "Flatlined" two Deer in KY back in 2004.

I've got one. It's a strong gun. See my note about converting grains by volume to grains by weight in a separate thread.

Mine shoots saboted 44 caliber pistol bullets well over biggish powder loads (100-150 grains) and T/C Maxi-Balls (a lubricated conical) not well at all. It shoots patched round balls in very tight groups over 50 to 60 grains of Pyrodex, but groups open up a lot as the powder charge exceeds 60 grains. I think this is due to the rifling twist being optimal for saboted pistol bullets and not for round balls.

I've got 2 of em, an XR .50 and a Super XR .45, they both shoot 1½" groups at 100yrd with 777 and Powerbelts, excellent rifles. They're both equipped with WGRS sights, no scopes allowed here.

What is a WGRS sight?
