I am back....no dies yet, wife is getting them for me for Xmas...so I gotta' wait. Borrowed some though and I have 8 rounds loaded with 70grns FFg and a miriad of bullets I have patched up so far. Now I just have to wait for the rain and wind to calm down for a couple hours and them I will shoot em'! RussB, I have patched up Minnie's for my 54Cal flintlock with excellent results. The paper that worked the best in that case was standard notebook paper. The second best paper in line was "post-it notes". Might want to give them a try for patching up smaller bullets to a larger caliber. The paper is pretty tough - so it needs to soak a bit longer in a small bowl when you are patching. I like a 45deg angle for the heavier paper too. Just a thought.... Eric

I have never done this myself but have shot several a friend of mine loaded through a Marlin 1895, a ruger No 1 and a Browning 1885. He loads a .452 dia bullet and patches it with Teflon pipe dope tape! Swears you can put the stuff on the bullet and then resize it and it will still stay on. I'm going to load some with 255 gr 45 LC bullets and see how they work, just have not had time to do so - yet! Happy holidays to all,

I haven't tried it with lee bullets yet, but I have patched the base of some Lyman "volunteer" bullets with acceptable effect: minute of bowling ball. You could use the crimp grooves as a guide and only patch below them.
