Ok, it appears I forgot to clean my old Knight Wolverine after season this year and it appears to be ruined. The barrel is really pitted and rusted on the inside. So, I guess it's time to get another. It will be used only for hunting so durability is required.

From what I can find here and other places, it seems like the Omega with a stainless barrel is what I ought to get. I really do like the way the encore fits me, but I really don't have any intention to ever converting it to a rifle.

I would appreciate some input on what and where to buy. I'll also take any advice on how I might clean-up the wolverine for a back-up gun if needed.

Here is some advice for what it is worth. The gun can be cleaned with NAVEL (spelling) jelly. It will take off any rust and blueing so be carefull with it.
For another gun you can get what you want but I have seen a lot of the older Knight BK 92's sold cheap like 100 dollars or so here. I have one it is a good rifle but they all need to be cleaned. The rifle I just put together is a Renegade.

It has a Green Mt Stainless Steel LRH barrel. It has been a dream to clean and is amazing for accuracy. The barrel from Cabalas is about 225.00 Old hawkins and renegades that have been mistreated like yours can be bought cheap and a new barrel added. Just a thought, how do you like this three shot group with peep sights. A guy doesn't need a inline. Ron

That's a nice looking rifle and I've got the barrel soaking in some oil right now. The gun is over 10yrs old and never did shoot real well. The old stock design is terrible with no recoil pad at all.

Electrolysis is the most effective method to remove rust. Only the rust is removed, no metal.

You could have the barrel rebored to a larger caliber.

Try www.gunbroker.com new ,used, dealers and private , every kind of gun in the book listed at one time or another ! If you impregnate a 20 ga. or .410 shotgun brush with 4-0 steel wool and liquid wrench takes about 2+ hours your barrel will be shootable .

Doc has several stainless Whitetails for sale(brand new .504s for $320...), and he is one of the real gentlemen in the MZ game.

I have two White .504s, and just ordered one in .410. Both the 50s shoot to 1-1/2" @ 100 (6X Leupold) with Hornady 300-gr SSTMLs, and I just started playing with the 370-grain Lyman Maxi. Cast 1:20 and launched with 100 grains of 3F Triple Se7en and a CCI #11 cap, they will hold to 3" at 200 yards. That is volume measuring powder and not weighing projectiles...
