What is wrong with real black powder and patched round balls? I am amazed how much some people want things done for them. I prefer to do as much for myself as I can, that is what makes muzzleloading so much fun.

There's nothing wrong with the patched round ball providing you use it within its performance envelope but for some of us, muzzleloader shooting is about pushing these guns beyond what you can ethically do with a round ball. My greatest pleasure comes from working up long-range loads. That takes a ton of work and for me is why muzzleloading is so much fun. It's a great passion in that there are so many aspects to it!
