Dank: The usual measure in a percussion revolver is the amount it takes to fill the chamber so that the seated ball is below the chamber mouth so the ball clears the flame upon cylinder rotation. Whether this amount is safe with Blackhorn, i cannot say. Also unsure if this powder can be ignited using standard percussion caps. I would go to the Blackhorn Web site for additional information. There is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn’t. – John Green, author

Black powder load for a metallic 44 cal. cartridge is "44-40." That's a 44 cal. bore and 40 grains powder. Pietta, in the 44 cal. "1858 Remington" revolver suggests 35 gr. You want to fill the cylinder sufficient that the ball sits snug upon the powder charge when the loading ram is fully depressed. CVA posts their revolver manual online: http://www.cva.com/pdfs/RevolverWarrBook.pdf Page 9 lists charges --
