I've really got the bug to get into doing some hunting with a front stuffer shotgun. Right now I plan to hunt turkeys and some small game with it. Which route do you guys recommend. The one I'm leaning toward is the Knight TK2000. Thanks Ken

Those have to be the ugliest most awkward excuse for a shotgun I have ever handled. To me black powder means tradition, aestetics, and a slower paced mindset. I have a few BP shotguns. A Beretta O/U, a S/S of my own making, and a 4 bore. I find the Beretta reproduction gets most of the shooting. It is well balanced, shoots great and looks the part. I have a higher percentage of dead birds with it than any modern shotgun I own. I put a jug choke in each barrel. I get IC patterns in one barrel and MOD out of the other. The jug choke is a big factor. I once owned a S/S that had modern chokes, Full and Mod. Problem was getting a wad down the silly thing. It was a S.O.B. to load. Sold it. Personally I would go for a traditional double of some kind, or a half stocked single with a longish tube, whatever balanced best. I don't see the doubles as a huge advantage. There are some real dangers with doubles. In either case I would jug choke it. Maybe a caplock and use musket caps or maybe a flinter. I have had some trouble with #11 caps giving good reliable ignition in larger bores. Take a look at what Track of the Wolf has to offer before you decide to get the in line. My thought right now has me looking to put togeter a half stock percussion single barrel. Half octagon 36" barrel with an under rib. Top quality lock, good wood, and traditional lines. Probably an English flavor. I think that would be a dandy gun. Something like this: http://www.davide-pedersoli.com/eng/search_rec.asp?item=s244&code=0017&titolo I really think most guys would be happier with a good looking traditional gun. Something to be proud of. The in lines are just bullet launchers, to me. In reality the actual ballistic performance will be the same in any case. Heck you can get the same ballistics with a hunk of 3/4" pipe lashed to a pole.

I have the Knight TK-2000. For its intended use, it probably can't be beat. I get a good pattern at 35yds with nickel plated #5s and 90gr ffg 777 for turkeys. It is 100% reliable and you can swap chokes for other game. Its only fault is it is light and it will kick the crap out of you! Really no worse than my Mossberg 835 shooting 3&1/2s though. Its a good gun. I like mine.

My friend has a NTFW TK2000 that he won at a banquet. He wants to sell or trade. Its new, with hang tags but no box. Unfired. Has a NWTF emblem in the stock. Let me know if you are interested.

Why don't you just load some BP shotgun shells and hunt with a single or double. Autoloaders are another matter, entirely, though.
