All shots were fired at the top bullseye. The first three, (lower right) were at 50 yards before adjusting the sights. The top center (in black) was at 50 yards after sight adjustment, and the top right (in black) was at 100 yards after sight adjustment. Both shots in the black were with 150 grains of Swiss FFg with the .735" ball that weighs 597.5 grains and a .010 T/C greased patch. This load produced an instrumental velocity at 10" of 1470 FPS. That's fast enough for me!

This gun is going to shoot better than I can aim it with those open sights....

Call me stupid buddy, but are you shooting from a smoothbore or using a rifled barrel?
Looking great by the way!

The barrel is rifled, 1/78" twist, 28" long, with a Jaeger blade front and two-leaf rear open sights on it. Barrel made by Long Hammock Barrels (Riley Smith, prop.) located in FLA.

El Deguello: Really like your jaeger and the fact that it seems to handle heavy loads so well. Can't wait to hear more range/hunting reports from you.

The last time I went to the range, I fired three shots with the Jaeger at 50 yards -all I had time for, as I had several other rifles to test that morning as well (not to mention the fact that all I had to protect my shoulder that day was a T-shirt!!). These three shots were fired offhand, two with .715" balls, one with a .735" ball. 150 grains of Swiss FFg and a .010" T/C greased patch for all three shots. the idea was to see if the .715" balls shot the same as a .735". They do, pretty much! In addition the .715"s are EASY to load-maybe too easy! Think I'll use a .015" patch with them next time.

E.D.: Sounds like you have your boomer dialed in. Bet it would make a great hog-swatter.

I hope so. I do plan to try it during the late PA flintlock season this winter.
