I've thought about this for years myself... but cutting up a $400-500 weapon on a "maybe" project doesnt sit well with me. If I ever found one dirt cheap... sure.

Better check your state laws just to be sure. Here in NJ, air rifles and black powder muzzleloaders are considered firearms. Also, you need the same pistol permit to buy a single shot pellet pistol as you would a S&W Model 29 44 magnum. And no, I am not kidding, this is not a joke. Paintball guns are not considered firearms only because the paintballers went to court and proved it. Just another reason to add to the list of why I am having a house built in PA...
